I have 2/16 of a cake at a birthday party. I keep going back for more and
eat another  4/8 of a cake. What fraction of a cake have I eaten altogether?
Half of 16 = 8 8 + 2 = 10 10/16

I have 5/20 of a Cake left over from the party. Then I give 1/10 of the cake
to my sisters. What fraction of a cake do I have left over?
1/10 of 20 = 2 2 - 5 = 3 3/20

½ + 2/4 = 2/4 = ½ ½ + ½ = 1 whole

3/6 + ⅔ = 2/3 of 1/6 = 4 4 + 3 = 7 7/6 = 1 1/6

⅕ + 2/10 = 1/5 of 1/10 = 2 2 + 2 = 4/10

⅙ + 4/12 = 1/6 of 1/12 = 2 2 + 4 = 6 6/12

⅕ + 1/15 = 1/5 of 1/15 = 3 3 + 1 = 4 4/15

1/8 + 1/72 = 72/8 = 9 9+ 1 = 10 10/72

1/9 + 1/18 = 1/9 of 1/18 = 2 2 + 1 = 3 3/18

⅕ + ⅙ = 11/30

1/7 + ⅕ = 12/35
