3D Shapes - Octagonal prism

On Tuesday the 27th of March My class room 4 made some shapes out of clay. I wont be able to show you the shape I made because I broke it, so lets just say I made a Octagonal prism.
We had to show how many edges faces and vertices there is on our shape. On a Octagonal prism there is 24 edges, 16 vertices and 10 faces.
I enjoyed doing this because we could use clay to make shapes, I played with the clay a little bit and made a shape, then I broke it.
Here is a image of a Octagonal prism

Mr Wisemans problems

I have $375 in my wallet. Mum gives me $2 to buy
a scratchy. I get lucky and win $127 on my scratchie.
How much money do I have altogether?
375 + 127 = 502

At Pt England College there are 659 children.
One day we have 196 children at Tamaki Primary
come visit us. How many children are there altogether?
659 + 196 = 855

I was going on holiday and had $4500 for my trip.
My flights cost me $2842. How much money was
I left with for my trip? 4500 - 2842 = 1658

There are 947 people who work at Sylvia Park Mall.
One day there is a fire drill and 632 people leave the
building. How many people are left at Sylvia park?
947 + 632 = 1479

On my birthday I received $236 from my family
in total and added this to my savings that currently
had a balance of $1254. How much money do I
now have in total? 1254 + 236 = 1490

Venus is 1683 degrees fahrenheit.
One day the temperature drops 387 degree
fahrenheit. What is the temperature now on Venus?
1683 fahrenheit - 387 fahrenheit = 1296

There were 1693 mls of juice inside the bottle.
Miss Clark drinks 573 mls of juice. How much
juice is left in the bottle? 1693 - 573 = 1120

The oldest cat in the world lived for a total 9463 days.
The oldest fish lived for 3853. What was the difference
in days between how long the cat had lived compared
to the fish? 9463 - 3853 = 5610

Extension Swift playground

This weeks extension we did swift playground again and we also did our extension DLO.
This week I learned about for loops, for loop just repeats the code a given number of times and I also learned "if" if just changes which path your code takes

Tidus Scrambled Sentences

today we learned to unscramble sentences that were scrambled and to put our punctuation in the right place.

Spectacular Shapes 3

Spectacular Shapes
We are learning to identify shapes by their properties

Algebra Recap:

6A = 36  A = 30
6B = 48  B = 42
14 - C = 5.  C = 9
20 + D = 29. D = 9
E - 6 = 15. E = 21
F x 2 + 1 = 21. F = 10
5G = 30. G = 25
12H + 2 = 62. H = 48

Name the following shapes: 1. Equilateral triangle 2. Isosceles Triangle 3. Scalene Triangle

Tidus 3D Pentagon

This my not really good Pentagonal prism I made with these pipe cleaners, it has 15 edges, 7 faces and 10 vertices.
This shape is a Polyhedron, the square faces are made up of parallel lines and right angles.
